Obtaining work and residence permits in Slovenia involves a comprehensive management of the procedure, i.e. from obtaining the necessary documentation, translations, submitting the application and managing the procedure before the competent administrative authorities, to the issuance of the requested documents in accordance with the Aliens Act (ZTuj-2) and the Act on Employment and Labour of Aliens (ZZDT-1). We also assist our clients with renewal of their permits.
The process of issuing documents takes on average 3-6 months from the date of submission of a complete application. The duration depends on the workload of the administrative authorities (the Ljubljana Administrative Unit is the busiest of all the units, so the procedures take longer), as well as on the type of document to be obtained. A distinction should be made between the procedures relating to permits for EU/EEA nationals and those for nationals of other countries.
